At 6 weeks old, Nicole's mother was provided with guidelines on how to support her with adherence, dietary support, and routine medical check-ups, since she was starting ART medication at that time. In addition, counselling was also provided to help her cope with the emotional burden her daughter's diagnosis had placed on her.
With the support of health workers at Alive Medical Services, Nicole continues become a vibrant, active child who enjoys playing with her friends and learning in school as she is growing. She mostly enjoys music and dancing activities mostly where she has become a star. Her mother is dedicated to her health, and she has not faced any major complications related to her HIV status where is actively involved in a support group for other HIV-positive parents, where she shares her experiences and learns how to better support her daughter’s ongoing health. She is determined to make sure her daughter had a happy and healthy life so that it is normal as possible.
