Dr. Pasquine N. Ogunsanya (MD, MPH, FAIPH) is a Public Health Specialist and a fellow of the African Institute of Public Health with vast experience in tropical medicine and comprehensive HIV/AIDS/ Sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services care for adults, children, adolescents, and youth. She is an advocate for inclusive HIV/AIDS/SRHR and mental health services for all, especially the vulnerable and marginalized communities. She is the co-founder and Executive Director of Alive Medical Services, a Non-Government Organization headquartered in Kampala, Uganda, providing comprehensive RMNCAH, SRHR, FP, HIV/AIDS, and social and behavioral services to the general population including the vulnerable and marginalized communities. Through her leadership, Alive Medical Services has achieved tremendous growth through partnerships and stakeholder engagement both Nationally and Internationally. From 2007 to date, AMS has served over 1,500,000 beneficiaries including over 18,000 PLHIV, with comprehensive RMNCAH, FP, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and WASH programs with support from several funders including, Sida, Frontline AIDS, KCCA, CDC-PEPFAR, The Bill & Gates Foundation, EJAF, USAID among others.
Mr. Joseph Kaggwa is a Chartered Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience as an NGO financial consultant and trainer. He is a member of the Uganda Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. He has provided consulting and training services in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, Sudan, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Cameroon. He is the Treasurer of Y Save, a Board Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors - Uganda Chapter, and the Chairman of the Board of Alive Medical Services. In addition, he serves on the disciplinary committees of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) and Shachah Christian Academy. As the chairman of the AMS board, Mr. Joseph enhances the financial team's capabilities and streamlines the auditing process with his management and financial expertise.
Mr Amos is a renowned and reputable businessman, entrepreneur, and corporate executive and is the founder and CEO of Great Lakes Safaris, Uganda Lodges, and Pela Commodities with over 20 years of experience. Since 1997 he has worked in several positions in the tourism industry including as a member of the Presidential Investors Round Table, President of the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA), Member of the Uganda Tourism Board of Directors (UTB) – Chairman of the Marketing Committee among others. Because of his expertise in marketing and management, he currently sits on several boards, has great exposure nationally and internationally, and brings his marketing and business skills to AMS. He is the Vice chairman of the AMS board and helps in the marketing and partnership development of AMS. His strong focus on gender and equal opportunities particularly the less advantaged groups and minorities helps support the public health challenges that AMS advocates for.
Mr. Francis is a highly regarded lawyer who is currently in charge of the Africa Law Practice (ALP) Group in Uganda and East Africa. The ALP Group is the region's first fully integrated law firm and was established primarily to support cross-border business transactions and regional integration initiatives. Mr. Francis received his LLM from Cambridge University with a concentration in banking and finance law, corporate tax law, and international trade law. He belongs to a number of organizations, including the International Bar Association, the East African Law Society, the Pan African Lawyers Union, the Rotary Club of Kampala, the Judiciary Law Reform Committee, and the Judiciary Case Backlog Monitoring Committee. As a board member, Mr. Francis contributes his management and legal skills to support governance, compliance, and all legal activities.
Ms Sarah is an experienced leader, manager, and senior Human Resources Manager who is passionate about environmental sustainability. She works with Improved Cook Stoves for East Africa (ICSEA) Ltd. of the Uganda Carbon Bureau in a number of international settings, such as the Mary Robinson Nutrition & Climate Justice meeting in Dublin, Ireland, and the Global Alliance for Clean Cooking meeting in Phnom-Penh, Cambodia, among others. She takes part in a number of donor meetings for funding grant programs and networks for combating climate change or for purchasers interested in forward sales (Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements) in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Africa, Lesotho, and Ethiopia. Sarah offers to the board her expertise in environmental conservation and health, HR experience in supporting AMS directing teams in rural, urban, and international settings, and great interpersonal and communication skills. She assists AMS in overseeing communication and donor relations.
Mrs. Margaret is the Technical Advisor for Change Management and Institutional Transformation on the DFID/EU Program on Strengthening Uganda's Anti-Corruption Response and also the Organized Project Officer for the Organization Development Supporting Institutional Strengthening. She has over 22 years of professional HR experience and 10 years as a specialist in organization development supporting institutional strengthening. As a board member, Margaret contributes her HR knowledge to organizational development, helping to enhance AMS's institutional framework and assist the design, execution, and facilitation of change management procedures, transition, and sustainability plans.
Currently serving as the CEO of Natures Farm Foods SMC Ltd., Mr. Joseph is a well-known and respected business development and investment analysis consultant with a proven track record of success in the management consulting industry. He has experience in negotiation, counseling charitable groups, and business development and a strong foundation in business development, economics, and investment analysis thanks to his Master of Science in Agricultural Economics & Management with a focus on International Development Economics from Wageningen University & Research Centre. Joseph has successfully held a number of positions since 1997, including sales and marketing, investment analysis for a well-known SACCO in Uganda, consultant for agricultural policy economics in Pakistan, and manager for World Vision Uganda. He has developed several successful business plans and grant proposals both nationally and internationally, notably to the Dutch government. As a member of this board, he brings his expertise to business development and strategic planning, organizational development, and proposal development.
